Coppi, Koblet and Bobet put themselves at the front chasing the break on Stage 4.

Geminiani leads on the Aubisque as Bauvin, Van Ende, Lauredi and Biagioni follow - heading from Dax to Tarbes on Stage 13. Biagioni won the stage and shared second place on GC with Geminiani - six minutes behind Bauvin.

Hugo Koblet makes a 140km solo break on Stage 11 - winning the stage by over two minutes and moving to third on GC behind Leveque and Bauvin.
