Front covers from Rouleur magazine
One of cycling’s newest magazines with just 14 issues to date (30-Oct-2009)... however has recently become a bit of a collectors item. Certainly eBay buyers have been chasing Rouleur back issues - with several going for £15+. But the most surprising bit of collector mania, so far, was a copy of Issue 1 that reached £73 (today - 20-Nov-2009) with another 5 days still to run. Update 25-Nov-2009 - Issue 1 sold for £101 (167 USD). Update 10-Jan-2010 - The rush for copies of Issue 1 continues with sellers getting £129, £153 and £137 respectively for 3 copies sold within just a few days. Also the interest has spread to other out-of-print editions - with Issue 13 already up to £70 when last I checked.
If you want to avoid the stress and wallet-damage of bids over the cover prices then try out our cycling friends at Prendas or Wiggle - who have (had?) many of the back issues still available. Indeed when I checked with Rouleur themselves they had copies of every issue except numbers 1, 5 and 13 available for purchase at the cover price. Update 16-Jan-2010 - strong demand is emptying the shelves. The out-of-stock and out-of-print signs are now also up for issues 4, 6 and 10.
ps Prendas still has some copies of issue 10. pps They are also now out of stock! (Thanks, Rob)
