UK Indoor Track Plans Date 27-Feb-2013 Normally interest in the winter track season does not start to pick up until July or later - but this year Glasgow will be hosting the Junior Worlds from 7 to 11 August. And recent experience has shown that there could be plenty of public interest - so tickets are going on priority sale from 18 March with general sales starting one week later.
For the rest of the confirmed calendar the biggest news is that London will host the concluding round of the Revolution series next January. It’s not yet clear if this will be the first event on the London track since the Olympics - but it will certainly be a sell-out. Given the popularity of these events it’s a pity that the series could not be expanded to give more races per venue. But it’s hard to be critical of the team that has done so much to boost British track racing over the years.

Not much news on the international calendar as yet but the UCI seem to be planning to limit their World Cup series to just three rounds again. However it is confirmed that the European Championships will be at Apeldoorn, Netherlands 18-20 October 2013 and the Worlds at Cali, Colombia 26 February to 2 March 2014.
After that it’s the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow starting from 23 July to 3 August. But that’s in the 2014-15 season and will feature Scotland versus England, Wales and Northern Ireland instead of simply Team GB. And if Scotland votes for independence that could become the normal situation in future years.
